Fowlmere to Fowlmere via Europe
The saga of two intrepid pilots and their trip around Europe.
Each year two private pilots have a short break on the European mainland. The breaks are twofold - firstly to use their navigation skills and secondly to do some local exploring.
The aircraft used is a Piper Archer III, although fully equipped for IFR operation the intention was to fly the complete trip under VFR rules. The map shows the route taken, with a total distance of 925 miles and approximate flying time of 8.5 hours, quite a challenge. We had arranged to pick up one of the wives in Osnabruk so hopefully our arrival time for that would not be delayed by bad weather or technical problems.
